    Who invented jelly, the jelly you put on bread?

    It is doubtful we can trace back to the actual inventor of jelly, since it appears to date back to the Middle Ages. According to the source below, Marcus Gavius Apicius was the first to publish a recipe for fruit preserves in the first century.
