Are you asking "What are the 5 tallest mountains on land?" or on water? On Land: Mount Everest,K2,Kangchenjunga, Gangkhar Puensum,Ismoil Somoni Peak. Unfortunately, I don't know the underwater mountains.

"The highest mountain is not necessarily the tallest, considering the difference in height between the peak and the surrounding base of the mountain. There is no precise definition of surrounding base, but Mount McKinley, Mount Kilimanjaro and Nanga Parbat are possible candidates for the tallest mountain on land by this measure. The bases of mountain islands are below sea level, and given this consideration Mauna Kea (4,207 m (13,802 ft) above sea level) is the world's highest mountain and volcano, rising about 10,203 m (33,474 ft) from the Pacific Ocean floor. Ojos del Salado has the greatest rise on Earth— 13,420 m (44,029 ft) from the summit to the bottom of the Atacama Trench about 560 km (350 mi) away, though most of this rise is not part of the mountain."
Are we restricted to the Earth? Olympus Mons on Mars (21,171m)is the highest mountain in the solar system. This list shows others higher than Everest - the equatorial ridge on Iapetus (approx. 20,000m), Booasaule Montes on Io (approx. 17,000m), Maxwell Montes on Venus (11,000m) are all higher than Mt Everest (8,848m).

Of course, we don't know WHAT lies beyond!
