Internet Movie Database says that Dustin Hoffman is sometimes credited as Sam Etic. Can anyone tell me why?

Question #11280. Asked by MAE. (Mar 30 01 2:52 AM)

    sean

I know he guest starred on the simpsons, as lisa's substitue teacher
    Mr. Bergstrom
and like other simpson's guest stars, didn't use his real name for whatever
    reason...
so sametic, or semetic, or however it's spelled, I'm not sure, I think it
means jewish or something, somebody else can confirm that, but he just used
that as an alias and a play on words
    hope that helps
