    Why do most cows sleep standing up?

    		Cows do occasionally snooze while standing, but for proper sleep, they lie down. They spend on average 3.9 hours a day asleep, but not in one long sleep. It is usually broken up into a lot of short periods.

    Horses on the other hand really do sleep while standing up.
