There are a couple possibilities here:

    1) Slovakia defeated both Latvia and Russia (formerly in the USSR) in the group stage of the Men's tournament.

    2) Slovakia defeated both Norway and Sweden (once a single nation) in the tournament stage of the Men's tournament.

    3) The United States defeated both Russia and Finland during the women's tournament

    4) Mexico defeated both Bulgaria (a former part of the Ottoman empire) and Turkey (the closest thing to a modern successor to the Ottomans) in the qualification stage for the men's tourney.

    5) Both Hungary and Lithuania defeated the former Yugoslav states of Croatia and Serbia in the qualification for the men's tournament.

Are you then looking for Finland (beat both Czech Republic in the quarterfinals then Slovakia in the match for the bronze medal)?
