    It is difficult to decide who is the "most famous"; what criteria would one use?

    This site lists well over a hundred Georgians who are well known.

    I agree that it's a bit arbitrary.
    To Georgians, their "greatest" ruler was David the Builder.

    Today, people both inside and outside Georgia might recognize either Katie Melua, the singer who was born there but lives in the UK, or Eduard Shevardnadze, their former president.
