Would an untreated bite from loxosceles reclusa ruin my whole day more than an untreated bite from latrodectus mactans?

Probably not. A Black Widow spider (latrodectus mactans) bite would probably be a tiny bit more life threatening than a Brown Recluse spider (loxosceles reclusa). From my two friends experiences both are dangerous in different ways. The key word in the question is untreated. One friend of mine was bitten on the ankle while putting up hay and wasn't aware that he'd been bitten. He went into convulsions and they took him to the hospital. No one knew about the bite until they pulled his boots off and found the crushed black widow. He was then treated accordingly. Another friend of mine was bitten on the abdomen as he slept by a brown recluse. It took a few days for it to become obvious what kind of spider bit him. They had to surgically remove the quite a bit of tissue from around the bite, which had become necrotic by this time. Never dismiss a bite from either of these spiders.
