Are house pets, cats and dogs, generally healthier than humans?

I imagine there's a lot of information that would prove/disprove that notion, yet my common sense tells me that domestic cats and dogs are indeed healthier than humans. Why do I say that? Just take a look in your own medicine cabinets and compare the medications we have to take in comparison to the ones our pets have to take. And how many visits to the doctor does a human have to take on average as compared to a cat or dog? When's the last time puppy or kitty was laid up with a horrible cold/flu for weeks on end? Anyway, that's more personal opinion than scientific evidence, but I feel it's a good answer nonetheless. Apr 05 10, 10:59 PM
