Surgical remedies are quite routine these days. Eye drops, when used if surgery is not appropriate, can control the pressure adequately to prevent blindness, but do not cure the disease.

Marijuana and Glaucoma
The action of the chemicals in marijuana reduces the pressure within the eyeball. It is believed that the active chemical in marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is responsible for the reduction of the pressure.
However, to be truly effective at relieving glaucoma, marijuana needs to be smoked or ingested every 3 hours, which makes this approach unworkable for many people. In addition, the damaging effects from smoking outweigh any beneficial effects. THC is now being manufactured in pill form in order to avoid these problems.
