If radio waves travel through space, how far has the original broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" reached? Maybe they have already heard it on Mars and Pluto.

Radio waves travel at the speed of light, being a form of electromagnetic radiation. Since the original radio broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" took place in 1938 (72 years ago) the waves would have travelled over 60 light years. This is well past Mars and Pluto! The nearest star outside our solar system is Proxima Centauri, about 4 light years away. The time to reach other planets in our solar system would be measured in hours or days, not years.

Of course, they could only 'hear' it if they had equipment designed to detect and interpret radio waves.
