    What are the four humors, and what did they represent?

    		The four humors were different bodily fluids, and it was believed that balence had to be kept between these four fluids. They are as follows:
    Yellow Bile
    Black Bile
    Phlegm
    Blood
    each humor also represented a season, as follows:
    Spring- blood
    Summer- yellow bile
    Fall- black bile
    Winter- phlegm

    		Theophrastus and others developed a set of characters based on the humors. Those with too much blood were sanguine. Those with too much phlegm were phlegmatic. Those with too much yellow bile were choleric, and those with too much black bile were melancholic.
