About 90% of the world's earthquakes and 80% of the world's largest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire which is in the Pacific Ocean. Can someone explain why this is so?

The ring of fire is a volcanic chain under the pacific ocean. These volcanoes are located on edge of plates and earthquakes( especially strong ones) occur near plate boundaries.

Here's a map showing the tectonic plates in the region. You can see how their boundaries correspond with the "Ring of Fire".

Are earthquakes only found on Earth, or have other planets been known to have earthquakes as well?

I'm looking for the name of a TV mini series movie/show. We had rented them from the video store. It's about a boy who is traveling to different worlds looking for pieces of a machine to get him back home (I think.) He is gathering something along his way. He travels to different worlds with a "professor" and maybe another person. Along the way he visits 5-8 different worlds (each was a different movie.) They were all entitled "Somebody and the Land of ???" One world had to do with giant eggs, one world a town of toys, and the end was a land something like a fantasy "Camelot." My children watched these movies anywhere from 1988 - 1993. I'm hoping someone can help me end my frazzled search.
