About 90% of the world's earthquakes and 80% of the world's largest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire which is in the Pacific Ocean. Can someone explain why this is so?

The ring of fire is a volcanic chain under the pacific ocean. These volcanoes are located on edge of plates and earthquakes( especially strong ones) occur near plate boundaries.
