Actually, this bridge is the most popular suicide place in the world. People that jump off the 245 feet bridge hit the water at 75mph, which makes the water have the effects similar to concrete. A suicide count has been kept by onlookers. An average of one person(two people sometimes) have been seen jumping every week. The fatality percent of jumping is at 98%. People who accidentally might have fallen have a scarce chance of living. Only 26 people have been recorded to have survived the jump. One person actually jumped, swam to shore, and drove to the hospital. Suicide is an ongoing problem for this bridge, and there are even signs on the posts that promotes phones on the bridge that talk about suicide prevention.
