    You can say how tall is the tallest man and how short is the shortest man. You can also say how tall is the shortest man. But why does it sound different if we say how short is the tallest man?

    		I'm not sure you can say "how short is the shortest man?". It should be "how tall is the shortest man?". This reminds me of a TV advertisement which (incorrectly)described a razor as being "twice as thin as an ordinary blade" instead of "half as thick".
