Chip Taylor wrote "Wild Thing"
and "Angel of the Morning"
Chip Taylor (born March 21, 1944, in Yonkers, New York) is the stage name used by American songwriter James Wesley Voight, who is noted for writing and composing the songs "Angel of the Morning" and "Wild Thing." Taylor's brothers are the actor Jonathan "Jon" Voight and the geologist Barry Voight. He is the uncle of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven.
"Wild Thing", "Angel of the Morning", "He Sits at My Table", "Papa Come Quick", "Country Girl, City Man", "Sweet Dream Woman", "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face" - the list of Chip Taylor songs goes on and on. "Wild Thing" alone has been recorded over 400 times, by popular artists like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Manfred Mann, the Kingsmen, the Muppets, and, of course, the Troggs.
