The Shining (film).
"The Overlook's paranormal inhabitants, such as the dead woman in Room 217 (237 in the Stanley Kubrick adaption) and the living hedge animals on the roque court, began threatening Danny. Jack and Wendy were not aware of these strange events."

Heeeere's Gerry! I'm glad you didn't overlook this one and gave a shining answer.
The fictional hotel in Stephen King's book was based on the Stanley Hotel at Estes Colorado. Satisfyingly, the first entry of Room 217 by Danny is on page 217 of the original edition.

When Kubrick used the Timberland Hotel in Oregon for facade shots of the hotel for the film, they asked him to change the number so their guests could feel safe in room 217. They had no room 237.
