Who warned Caesar to beware the Ides of March, and is this considered historic or only Shakespearean?

    Question #116487. Asked by star_gazer. (Aug 03 10 8:30 PM)

The soothsayer Spurinna warned Caesar to "beware the Ides of March." This is considered historic and not merely a Shakespearean creation.

See, e.g., http://www.neroprediction.com/idesmarch/ides_march.html (referencing, inter alia, the historian Suetonius).
