    Why do humans, especially babies, rub their eyes when they are tired?

    		Humans in general rub their eyes when they are tired because when we are tired, our eyes get dry. Rubbing our eyes stimulates our tear glands, which moisten our eyes. Babies do it for this reason, in addition to one other. When they get tired, so do their eyes. Just as you would rub a sore muscle after exercise, they rub their eyes.
