A hobo is a migratory worker, long holidays, but he does work. A tramp is pathologically allergic to work and avoids it at all cost. A bum is the lowest of the low. He has no desire to travel and even less for work. The only people with the power to move a bum are the boys in blue.

A hobo is a man who travels to find work, a tramp is a man who travels but refuses to work, and a bum is a man who won't travel and won't work.
