In the UK, which deciduous plants are usually the first in the year to drop their leaves and which are the last?

Question #118049. Asked by gmackematix. (Oct 09 10 1:53 PM)

    highfells

This question cannot really be answered as it is dependant on location within the UK. The temperature conditions that trigger leaf-drop will happen at slightly different times in different parts of the country.

Some plants that drop their leaves in the northern UK remain green all winter in the south.

Reference: 40 years personal experience gardening in different parts of the UK.
