Some voluntary first aid organisations charge fees for covering large or commercial events, but ask for a 'donation' for small or very good cause ones. The amount of the donation is open, unlike the fees which are on a fixed list. If it's a fund raising event, the donation is expected; if not, and only two members are needed, it can be overlooked.
