    What is the record amount of pennies collected in a fund-raiser event?

    		Found this in a magazine. This does not answer the question but this is a lot of pennies. Still looking for the record. WHO'S NEWS Lots of kids were out collecting pennies for charity on Halloween, but MATTHEW NONNEMACHER, 10, had a head start. A few months ago, Matthew began putting collection jars in schools and stores around his hometown of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. By late October, he had raised $18,196.91 for the United Way charities. That's almost 2 million pennies! The money will be used to help the needy. Says Matthew: 'It feels good to help people.'
