We all can vividly remember seeing pictures of the stiff American flag standing after the first manned moonwalk. Strange question. Is it still standing there?

Question #119211. Asked by undudelike. (Dec 08 10 12:09 PM)

It has been reported by Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin in his book "Return to Earth" that the flag fell over from the force of the Aquarius's motors on ascent from the lunar surface.
The flag wasn't well secured as Armstrng said they had some difficulty planting it in the surface.
After 40 years, the flag should still be there, although the flag would be faded and dirty. There are five other flags planted on the moon, and barring meteor strikes or alien theft, all six should be there.
In 2009, NASA was taking pictures of the Apollo landing sites, but it is not know of the condition of the flags.

English monarchs are abbreviated, as for example, ER standing for Elizabeth Regina, or GR standing for George Rex. When William and Mary were joint monarchs, their abbreviation was WMR. Actually the W and M were often joined together, but I can't seem to do that from my keyboard. What does the R stand for in this case?
