The Kowloon Bridge was built in 1973. On a trip in 1986 with a huge amount of iron ore, it developed cracks with such serious consequences that the crew abandoned ship safely. Subsequently, all efforts to save the ship were in vain and it's referred to as Europe's biggest wreck. The ore that was lost was valued at 2.7 million pounds.
