The train was named Führersonderzug "Amerika" in 1940, and later, Führersonderzug "Brandenburg". After the Balkans Campaign the train was never again used as a Führer Headquarters, but Hitler used it throughout the war when he travelled between Berlin, Berchtesgaden, Munich and other headquarters.

The exact components of the Führersonderzug are not known.

This was Hitler's private train actually pulled by not one but two locomotives. It had two armoured railway cars in its entourage. After the US entered World War Ii, its name was changed to 'Brandenburg.' He last used this private train on January 15, 1945.

According to this poster, the personal car belonging to Hitler was destroyed by the Wehrmacht in 1945. The rest of the train was converted to commercial use.
This link also creates a debate as to whether the train was codenamed Amerika or simply Erika. (It appears the entire train went by that codename, not just his car.)
