    What key does the cor anglais lack?

    		Some English horns lack the lowest note, the written B under middle C (concert pitch E a fifth below). Others have it. It is not uncommon for some of the wind instruments to have that extra low note and others not to. (Some flutes, for instance, have the low B, some clarinets the low written Eb, and some baritone saxophones the low written A, while others don't have these notes.)
