    "This book was not edited or introduced. It was, however, dedicated to Uris's wife. Uris also thanks the many who aided him along the way.“This book is dedicated to/ my wife, Jill/ who is as much a part of these pages/ as the Irish people (written in caps with a typewriter-esque typography)."
