The names by which NCAA Division 1A schools are known are not always their official ones. However, the three service academies (Army, Navy and Air Force) are not universities, nor is Boston College. Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (full name of the Hokies) is generally known as Virginia Tech, and the 'university' designation is left only for state lawmakers and alumni fundraising.

how about GA Tech? I don't know what division they are in, but I know they have played the Army or Navy, so I assume they are in the same division. The full name is Georgia Institute of Technology.
