    Well,that was "spit spot" as Mary Poppins might say. The illustrations of Mary Shepard don't have the charm of her father's, but that may be due to ...well..one hesitates to say "interference"...by the author but she did insist on several things including the way she placed her feet when standing and that she should have "no figure at all" Reference "Mary Poppins She Wrote" by Valerie Lawson
