How do the graphite flakes from the "lead" of the pencil stick to the paper and not fall of?

    Question #120577. Asked by naveen_213. (Mar 06 11 12:13 AM)

The graphite is 'trapped' in surface imperfections of the paper. That is why pencils do not write well on very shiny papers.
