Hi deputygary,
Yes, your answer is right. However, I failed to define the question even further. If you're willing to look further, the player who caught this one and only pass was a wide receiver. It was not a "tackle eligible pass" caught or possibly an inadvertent deflected pass caught.
Again, you have have found one other person in which Doug Flutie had only thrown one pass and caught by an NFL player only once in his career. Kudos.

Thank you, temporal1. Robert Hicks' pass reception was the result of a deflection so it wasn't actually thrown to him.
In 1987 WR Clay Pickering caught his only career pass while playing for New England. The game was played October 18 and their opponent was Houston. The pass was thrown by Flutie. It was Flutie's only start that year.
