Bleach manufactured in which season usually contains the most active ingredient and why?

Question #120712. Asked by gmackematix. (Mar 15 11 6:55 PM)

Bleach made for sale during the summer has extra sodium hypochlorite (the active ingredient), because temperature affects its stability. The Clorox website says:

"Bleach stability is affected primarily by temperature: hotter temperatures accelerate the decomposition of sodium hypochlorite, Clorox's active ingredient. An open or closed container, does not matter.

This is why we have a Clorox "bleach calendar" that we use to make bleach in our plants. In summer, we add extra hypochlorite to insure that our 6.0% active level is maintained for approximately 6 months at an ambient (70°F) temperature."

Indeed Sportsherald. It is better to buy bleach in the summer because that is when they add more active ingredient. I would have answered this one earlier but my answer was left on the bleachers as I could no longer find the link to back me up.
