When did the UK royal tradition of the first public marriage kiss begin?

    Question #121271. Asked by star_gazer. (Apr 30 11 6:59 AM)

It began with Charles and Diana. Charles, apparently, was reluctant, not willing to give in to pressure from a cheering crowd. After saying as much to Diana, Diana asked him, "Well, how about it?" He then replied, "Why ever not!"
