    When can moonbows be seen?

    		When there is moon light and the right amount of moisture in the air.

    		Moonbows don't happen very often, because moonlight usually isn't bright enough. To have a moonbow, conditions have to be just right : the Moon must be full or almost full and less than 42 degress high,the sky must be dark and it usually has to be raining opposite the Moon. Moonbows can also be seen around waterfalls.

    		Moonbows are usually seen by the eye as white, but can be photographed in full colour as in the above links. But similar bows, 'fogbows', can also be seen at times (in fog, of course). See Question #68324.
