First, cigarette makers are importing more tobacco from Africa, South America, and China to satisfy the particular tastes many consumers have for blends of tobacco. Certain blends also help establish longer burning rates and cheaper costs. Furthermore, the costs of cigarettes to consumers have increased for various reasons, and these increases seem to have led to a decline in demand for cigarettes.
