Why did Bette Davis turn down the role of Scarlett O'Hara in the movie "Gone with the Wind"?

    Question #121882. Asked by star_gazer. (Jun 13 11 5:47 AM)

Warner Brothers refused to allow her to take the role unless Errol Flynn, also under contract to them, played Rhett Butler. The producer of 'Gone With the Wind', David O Selznick, would not accept him so Bette could not take the part.http://www.destinationhollywood.com/celebrities/bettedavis/funfeatures_content.shtml
