    In cost per acre which was a better bargain, Alaska or the Louisiana Purchase?

    		This was a good one. The US paid $7.2 million for Alaska, spending about 2.5 cents per acre. It paid $15 million for the Louisiana Purchase, spending about 2.9 cents per acre. So Alaska was a slightly better deal. Thanks, Mr. Seward.
