In the 1912 Stockholm Games, how did the officials prove their ineptness for the tennis competitions?

    Question #122247. Asked by star_gazer. (Jul 03 11 4:30 AM)

    Dando

The 1912 tennis events were both covered court tennis and lawn tennis. The covered court events ran from May 5th. to May 12th. and there was no problem and there was good international representation. The officials had arranged for the lawn tennis events to run from June 28th to July 5th - and this clashed with the 1912 Wimbledon championships, which ran from June 24th to July 8th. International representation at the Olympic lawn tennis competitions wass therefore minimal.

I want to prove that 'All ravens are black'. An equivalent statement is 'All non-black objects are non-ravens', and if I prove the latter then I prove the former as well. I look around and see a blue sky, green grass, and an overwhelming number of things that are non-black non-ravens. I can easily prove that 'All non-black objects are non-ravens' and, by extension, I must also have proven that 'All ravens are black' because this is an equivalent statement. This is a well known paradox. Whose paradox is it?
