When cooking ears of corn which is the best way to start.....boil the water first then add the corn or add the corn then bring the water to a boil?

I have personally cooked corn on the cob on the stovetop both ways - boiling the water and adding the corn, and having the corn in the water before heating it. I have not been able to tell a difference in taste or doneness. There are, of course, several ways to cook corn on the cob.
