    RIP Andy Rooney, where was his first news job?

    His first job was for Stars and Stripes while he was in the army in 1942. Stars and Stripes is an American military news source. Rooney was operating out of London, England at the time.

    Actually, as a teen, he worked as a copy boy for the Albany Knickerbocker News.
