The Bastille, in Paris. There was only one prisoner in it at the time, but it was the symbol of the Aristocratic oppression of the masses, so it had to go.

It was The Bastille on July 14, 1789 and one of the events that started the French Revolution. However, there were 7 inmates at the time. Spandau Prison housed only one prisoner until his death on August 17, 1987, Rudolf Hess, a Nazi war criminal.
