    Did Austria-Hungary ever have colonies?

    The Austro-Hungarian empire didn't have any colonies. All its territories were made up of coterminous provinces in Europe in 1900.

    These had been acquired over the centuries through marriage, inheritance, treaty, and political settlement rather than conquest or colonization. They included part or all of modern

    Austria did try to colonize the Nicobar Islands.

    Austria-Hungary had "consessions" in Tianjin, China. Maybe not a "colony" but something similar.
