According to the book "Geographical Dictionary of the World," edited by Angelo Heilprin and Louis Heilprin, on page 1476, Port Edward was the seat of government of the British (leased) territory of Wei Hai Wei, China, on the mainland. This was from 1898 to 1930. Today, it is merely the city of Weihai, located in the eastern Shandong province.
