To summarize: Salinger met with Kruschev, in Moscow, in May 1962. At the end of the meeting Kruschev, who did not smoke cigars, gave Salinger a box of 150 Cuban cigars that Kruschev had received from Castro. Upon his return Salinger gave the cigars to Kennedy.
