What kind of "states" are Dietsland, Portugalicia and the United Cyprus Republic?

Question #124481. Asked by author. (Dec 18 11 10:04 PM)

They are "states" that are unrecognised by any other nation, but live in the minds of the supporters of the "idea" of them.

Dietsland would unite Flanders (the Dutch speaking part of Belgium) with the Netherlands, and, some propose, the Flemish/Dutch-speaking parts of Germany and France and elsewhere. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Netherlands

Portugalicia is the proposed unification of Portugal with the Spanish region of Galicia, forming a country along all of the western coast of the Iberian peninsula. See (translate from Spanish) http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portugalicia

Unlike the first two, the United Cyprus Republic seeks to restore a country that really used to exist, but with different governance. The United Cyprus Republic would have reconstituted the island of Cyprus into one country, out of the Turkish North and the Greek Cypriot South.
