    The natural solvent DMSO is used in organ transplants. What is it used for?

    		DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) is used for cryoprotection when storing things such as human bone marrow. When the bone marrow is transplanted or otherwise reinfused, the DMSO goes with it.

    DMSO can also be used as a drug delivery system via the skin as it is easily absorbed through the skin, but I don't know if that relates to drugs used in transplant protocols.
