Romantic poetry (or "romanticism") began in the mid to late 1700's, and was a sort of "revolt" against Neoclassicism, and was also, to some extent, a reaction to the recent "enlightenment."
Notable poets include William Wordsworth, John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Lord Byron, Samuel Coleridge
