    Is the horse that played War Adimral in Sea Biscuit the same that played Topthorn in Warhorse? (I am aware that numerous horses were used in production)

    This is what I found.

    One way of minimizing stress was by "job sharing." Multiple horses played the role of Joey and his friend, Topthorn. Non-toxic paint made the doubles' markings look identical so they could be used interchangeably and kept well-rested.

    In Reel Life: Seabiscuit is one horse.
    In Real Life: In producing the movie, 10 Seabiscuits and four War Admirals were used. This was because the race sequences necessitated multiple takes a day (too much for an individual horse to handle), and also because different horses did different things particularly well.

    In the Seabiscuit race sequence, they used 'Special Ring' (Seabiscuit) and 'Verboom' (War Admiral)...
