    Is it rue that Barbra Streisand once owned the screen rights to "Evita ?"

    		"Many newspapers speculated that Streisand already owned the film rights to Evita. In fact, the creators and producers knew she was not even under consideration. Tim Rice remembers that early in the summer of 1979, Streisand approached Stigwood and offered to buy the film rights for $2 million, he said "no," end of story."
