"Kids" is the word, the answer is "How I Met Your Mother," and that's how the "father" starts most of the episodes, as he introduces the next chapter. It seems I'd have to upload a few of those opening scenes on to Youtube in order to prove it, since I can't find any ready-made links as support. I don't plan to do that.

"How I Met Your Mother" is correct, as is "Kids".
The actors playing the kids filmed all of their scenes eary in the show's run, so that they would not age since their scene is supposed to be taking place during one evening in the future. At first they would respond and have lines, but now are shown nodding, since scripts weren't planned so many years in advance. However, one scene involving them is still to be shown, one that relates directly to the identity of their mother.
This link has the support you want Sportsherald, 96 of the 136 episodes have started with "kids"
